PUBLIC NOTICE A portion of the Seabrook Island Road bike path will be CLOSED to traffic beginning on Tues. August 9th for the installation of drainage improvements near the entrance to the Seafields development. The pathway will be closed between Andell Bluff Boulevard (entrance to Bohicket Marina) and Freshfields Village for the remainder of the week. For your safety and the safety of those working in the area, bicyclists and pedestrians are reminded to obey all signage and to avoid riding or walking around barricades while the pathway is closed.
The remainder of the pathway between Town Hall and Andell Bluff Boulevard (including both crosswalks) will remain open to bike and pedestrian traffic. The treatment is scheduled to take place during the overnight hours beginning after 11:00 PM on Tuesday, July 26th, and will be completed prior to 7:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27th (weather permitting).
As a reminder, mosquito treatment requests may be submitted at any time through the town's website at https://www.townofseabrookisland.org/mosquito-control.html. The Town of Seabrook Island Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee is currently accepting applications for FY 2023 State Accommodations Tax (ATAX) funding. Interested applicants must submit a completed application to the Town Clerk by 12:00 pm on Mon. August 8, 2022. The ATAX Advisory Committee will consider funding requests during its upcoming meeting on August 23, 2022, at 10:00 am, at which time the committee will vote on funding recommendations to Town Council.

A responsible person from the submitting organization must attend the ATAX Advisory Committee meeting on August 23, 2021, at 10:00 am to present the request (limit to five minutes) and to answer questions from committee members. Recommendations made by the ATAX Advisory Committee must be approved by the Seabrook Island Town Council before funds may be committed to the applicant or dispersed by the Town. August 8, 2022 (12:00 PM) The annual Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Display will take place on Sunday, July 3rd, at the Seabrook Island Club.
The primary spectator area for the fireworks will be located on the Club's driving range, located behind the clubhouse at 3771 Seabrook Island Road. The range will open at 4:00 pm, with music, food, and beverage sales beginning at 6:00 pm. The fireworks display, which is sponsored by the Town of Seabrook Island, will begin shortly after 9:00 pm. The event will feature live entertainment from the Lauren Hall Duo (6:00-7:00 PM), The Break Circuit (7:00-7:30 PM), and the Midnight City Band (7:30-9:00 PM). Other family-friendly activities, such as interactive break dancers, face painting station, backyard dominoes, yard yahtzee, yard jenga, and a balloon artist, will be available. Food will also be available for purchase from three food stations: All-American, Smokehouse, and Chilled Seafood. Parking at the Club will be limited. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, or take the shuttle. The shuttle will run between the clubhouse and the SIPOA Lake House (2319 Seabrook Island Road) on a continuous 25-minute loop. The first pick up at the Lake House will be at 4:30 PM. The final shuttle will depart the clubhouse at 10:15 PM. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be Tues. July 5th. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, Disaster Awareness Day will return with an in-person event on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Turtle Point Clubhouse (1 Turtle Point Lane, Kiawah Island). The event will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and will be followed by a complimentary lunch. The event is jointly hosted by the Towns of Seabrook Island and Kiawah Island. This program will focus on hurricane preparedness covering Storm Preparation, Emergency Communications, and Evacuation. Valuable prizes will be raffled off throughout the event. A complimentary lunch will follow the presentations. No RSVP is required.
